How to Interpret and Navigate the Normalized Expression Module

Accessing Normalized Expression

To access your Normalized Expression, select the "Discovery & Analysis" tab from the Menu at the top of any Experiment.

Then, select the Normalized Expression Module:

Navigation of Normalized Expression

Within Normalized Expression, you can view the normalized expression of a single target, multiple targets, or select a gene list of targets:

To view a single target, select a desired target of interest from the list on the left hand side to see the levels of expression across all samples.

To view multiple targets in a custom heatmap, hold down the control key (for PC) or the command key (for Mac) and then select your desired targets.

To see the expression levels of a gene list, select the drop down in the gene selection. For instructions on how to create a gene list, see here.

Viewing Normalized Expression

Normalized Expression data can be viewed by Attributes such as:

  • Color by- identifies the sample color in the heatmap by this attribute
  • Select Reference- Reference attribute for reference value
  • Reference Value- define the attribute for baseline value

Single target Normalized Expression data can be viewed in various formats by changing the graph type between box plot bar graph and can be viewed by attribute values:
